Logan feels ecstatic, a big burst of energy zipping through his body as he climbs out of the car. Eleventh. He’d placed eleventh. This was his best race all season, and knowing Alex had been two places ahead, scoring their team points, made Logan’s heart go all fuzzy.
There was no denying that Logan was irrevocably in love with his teammate, but even if he wasn’t, Logan would still be happier for Alex than he would be for himself. That’s just how he was with everyone he was friends with. But both him and Alex had done brilliantly today, and Logan knew it’d be all he’d think about for ages. A much-needed confidence boost, if he was to be honest.
As he walks through the garage, post-race routine rapidly completed, Logan is greeted by a chorus of cheers. It startles him, but he still smiles wide, so proud of himself, and thanks everyone he passes. But he can’t see Alex and that’s who Logan wants to see most of all. He wants to congratulate Alex for dragging their piece of shit car into ninth place. So he starts to hunt for him. He doesn’t get very far, though.
