Maybe he was always kind of buzzed, but G was funny. He got along with everyone. Hanging with him and Mikey together was a real treat, like they could read each other's minds but were also constantly busting each other’s balls.
It wasn’t his problem.
But when G left his hand on Frank’s thigh a little too long, or sunk his head onto his shoulder, or told him he was looking handsome, or begged Frank to jump on his back while they were walking to some house party, there was a wriggling sour feeling along with the excitement.

“Have you ever considered…” Gerard mumbled, his eyes now locked on the doll. He bent down and slowly picked it up, holding it like it was sitting in his arms, facing Frank with those stupid rosy cheeks.
“That he watches you,” Gerard maneuvered the arms of the doll so that they were open wide, like the thing wanted a hug. “Because he loves you?”

“We could,” Gerard begins, then frowns, looking slightly embarrassed. “Look, I just think – alright, I just got paid. We could use it to buy a house for cheap, flip it, and sell it. Or, like, I mean, I know you’re not gonna want – I just mean, we could find a deal and split it, but since I just got paid, it’s a good time. If it’s a good time for you. I think it is, though, I mean, you talk shit about your job all the time. Not the point, though, just – do you want to try?”
Frank doesn’t know how to respond for a moment. The surprise of Gerard delivering an at least halfway formed plan in the same conversation as it’s introduced is enough that it renders him nearly speechless, and he says, “Wait – fucking. What?”

Summary
Just after the American Civil War, ex-Union soldier Frank Iero is working as a mercenary for the Juarista rebels in the Second Franco-Mexican War. On his way to aid in capturing a French base in Chihuahua, he encounters a priest left for dead in the hot Mexican sun. Against his better judgment, Frank decides to rescue Father Gerard Way. He discovers, as luck would have it, that they are both working for the resistance movement against the French invasion of Mexico. Adventures ensue for our two heroes as they do their best to help the weakened Juarista movement. Meanwhile, and despite Gerard's vows, some invisible force pulls the two men closer and closer together. Will they find success in furthering the Juarista's cause? Will they escape capture from the French army? Will Gerard submit to his desires for his new cowboy friend?
