Zhongli, through bleary eyes, can see Childe, holding the pulsing amber gnosis to the light, examining it like it was a trophy hard-won. He grins, turning his head down at Zhongli.
“It’s a pretty thing. And yet…”
Zhongli’s stomach churns.
“I wonder,” Childe muses, “how would it feel if I, say, smashed the gnosis? Would you hurt?”
Zhongli stares, disbelieving. Is he insane? He must be. Of course it would hurt. And yet, no lunatic would dare smash a gnosis, especially not a Harbinger who was commanded by his Archon to retrieve it safely.
And yet… Zhongli feels anxious. Childe’s been observing his face, and Zhongli’s eyes widen in horror when Childe’s smile stretches wider. “Let’s see.” He raises his arm and, before Zhongli can even blink, can even open his mouth to cry out against it, hurls the vestige of his divinity towards the concrete floor of the Golden House.
