Katsuki realized that the idea of the two of them—Bakugou Katsuki and Midoriya Izuku, Kacchan and Deku—was woven so intimately into who he was that he’d never given any of it a second thought.
When he’d fallen in love with Izuku, he’d never thought to be afraid.
When Izuku turned down the invitation to work together as heroes, it completely derailed the plan that Katsuki had been working towards for the past eight years.
In the face of this unexpected turn of events, Katsuki quickly realized just how much he’d messed up by clinging to the idea of Izuku’s return. Because without Izuku there to fill in the gaps of his life, he became more and more aware of how painfully empty he felt.
With his future cleared of the last hopes and dreams of his youth, there was plenty of room for flowers to grow.

The book disappears into the satchel the man carries with him. He glances around the store once more, brows slightly knit together, before another question tumbles from his lips. “Do you have anything that will protect someone against fire?”
“Water,” Oikawa says dryly.
Once again, his attempts at humor are received poorly because all he gets is a flat look from the customer.
Not his best day.
(or: oikawa is a mage who owns a magic shop and iwaizumi is a monster hunter doomed to suffer horrible customer service).
