There was something different about the man. Despite his youthful look, there was a heaviness to his shoulders that said he had hardened through prolonged suffering. His smile, his laugh, the way his eyes crinkled in the corner, it was definitely a slipping mask. The way Orpheus held himself was too rigid, too perfected, and he noticed the rise and fall of the brunet's chest was too long between his conversations and rest.
The man was peculiar. Yet, no matter what, his eyes always found the other's, and he gazed at him like he was a meal to be devoured, yet there was an odd reverence that was mixed within the hunger.
Fredrick didn't want to admit it intrigued him, even less that he wanted to tread that danger willingly, even if it meant falling into the maw of the novelist.

Summary
Diluc’s jaw clenches and unclenches and when he meets Kaeya’s eye he’s all fiery determination. “Are you well?” He asks, only the vaguest hesitation cobwebbing the beginning of his speech before he clears through the stiff and the old and his voice rasps out, clearly and concerned. It reminds Kaeya eerily of the Dark Knight Hero's particular brand of awkwardness. Yet Diluc could never be anyone but himself, Kaeya supposes that is truly where their rift stems from, those fundamental differences, and yet here he is asking after Kaeya’s well-being like their years separated are nothing more than a snatch of time and not something that ate and corroded at them.
“Yes.” Kaeya breathes, smiling, a real smile this time. “I can take care of myself, you know, you didn’t need to step in.”
“I did,” Diluc argues.

In which Kaeya is a bit ooc because doesn’t know Diluc is the Dark Knight Hero and they somehow rekindle their brotherly bond one attempted murder at a time.

Summary
Ajax needs a roommate soon and fast. Simple as that, He’s gonna be forced to find one so he can actually pay rent. Unfortunately for him, it's so much harder than he had thought. He goes to check his phone the next morning and sees a notification, From Diluc-fucking-Ragnvindr. To say his joy plummets would be an understatement. the guy with who he has had a rivalry, slash fight thing (?) since freshman year of high school.

Summary
Three years ago, Diluc was left to bleed out in the snow by the newly appointed Eleventh Fatui Harbinger, Tartaglia, after a long cat and mouse chase across Snezhnaya’s frozen landscapes.
Presently, that same Harbinger decides to waltz right back into Diluc’s life and make him have to reconsider everything he thought about the other man, whether he wants to or not

"The Fatui. They're marching here now, Dottore, Pantalone, Capitano and Tartaglia are with them to take the city. We can't beat them or stop them, Kae. You need to leave!”
"Wait— Diluc, slow down. What are you talking about?"
"The Fatui are on their way to invade Mondstat right now. They're going to take all of the Knights to make sure no one rebels. I know they will. You have to leave!"

The Fatui plan and execute an invasion of the City of Mondstadt at night, led by Dottore, Pantalone, Capitano, and Tartaglia. Diluc manages to warn Kaeya before they get to him, giving him time to flee the city so he may seek help from the neighboring countries.
However, they both know that Diluc isn't getting out of this unscathed.
