Summary
Clancy can't remember much. All he knows are the lights that shine too brightly in his eyes, the soft colors that surround him, threaten to swallow him, the glazed eyes of everyone around him. And the Bishops. He exists to serve them, be their mouthpiece.
But it doesn't feel right. He has dreams, sometimes. Flashes of a wild, rugged land, flower petals of some color he can't name, and a face. The face he sees every day, as he performs, except it's not quite right. He wonders if he'll ever truly feel whole, if he'll ever be able to trust what he sees with his own two eyes again. -
