Summary
Clancy of Dema was born to die. His purpose was determined by the knife placed into his infant hand, promised to the priests of Vialism that rule the Sacred Municipality, like all others who shelter within its walls. He does not fear purpose. Why would he? Life's kingdom is nothing but grey walls and a certainty that he will always be incomplete.
There are poems written on his bedposts. Melodies turning over in the bus engines. Choruses whispered in his footsteps. They, too, are incomplete, but they are anything but grey. The hum of wonder haunts Clancy.
And beyond the walls of Dema shines a yellow star.

He usually doesn’t hesitate in doing what’s painful in the moment for the sake of long-term gain, but with Clancy… he has already been though so much. For years people have been telling him what to do, forcing him to do it if he doesn’t go willingly, censoring him and coercing him. Torchbearer does not want to be another entry in the line of faces that appears before him with demands. But he doesn’t want Clancy to lose to himself again, either.
Clancy and Torchbearer finally have a proper heart-to-heart about whether or not Clancy truly ever left Dema.

The Icy Tour - 2022
Tyler and Josh are performing another show, and everything is going relatively normal on Josh’s end. He rocked his drum solo for ‘Morph” and his favorite so far is probably ‘Message Man’.
Josh had noticed Tyler being a bit out of it during the show, spacing out before he went on stage and taking a few seconds to process the songs they’re playing, even though they’ve played this setlist multiple times prior. Josh thinks it’s because of lack of sleep, or something along those lines. It’s going to be okay.
Things start falling apart during Saturday.
Josh gets on his platform and plays the drums like usual, but it’s towards the middle of the song that he hears a thump noise and Tyler not singing anymore. The audience around him gasps and he stops playing, looking around with confused eyes.
Tyler’s laying on the stage, he passed out. Shit
