Trixie hadn't been thinking when she'd said it. But when Katya brought her the water she'd just asked for, she'd patted the shorter woman on the hand with a distracted, "good girl".
Trixie felt more than saw Katya's reaction. The sudden stillness, then nervous fluttering of her hands as she abruptly started rambling about something random.
Trixie noted the way Katya's chest was heaving, her small breasts visibly rising and falling under her white tank top as she talked about a new show she thought they should put on their 'to watch" list.
Huh.
Had she just pressed a button she hadn't realized Katya had?

"Holy shit…" Jim squinted at the video in disbelief. He dragged the cursor to rewind the vid and played it again. And again.
He stared bug-eyed at the dancer onscreen--a man who'd just finished doing the moonwalk and was now crossing his arms over his chest, gangsta style; a man who was decked out in truly ridiculous gold lamme’ hammer-pants, chains, and over-the-top shades--and told himself it could not possibly be Bones, despite the uncanny resemblance.
Jim rewound the video once more, jaw dropping as certainty set in.
It was Bones.
Jim threw his head back and literally cackled with glee.

After all, you’re an expert on healthy relationships.” His smile is cutting as he strikes out. “What with your failed marriage and all.”
Bones’ shoulders tense as Jim’s sarcastic remarks have the desired effect. “Nice, Jim. Act like an asshole all you want, but it’s not gonna make me drop this.”

The cherry on top of the crap sundae that is Derek's life is being sentenced to twenty-four hours community service for a few measly parking tickets. Whatever, at least the guy yelling at leftover take-out is kind of hot.
“Stilinski! Quit cavorting with the newbies and make with the trash-stabbing!”
“That’s not a thing you should say in the midst of a bunch of convicts, Bobby,” the guy - Stilinski - retorts. Something tells Derek this guy’s no stranger to community service.
“It’s hardly maximum security - and for the last time, it’s Mr. Finstock!”
“Jeez, alright, don’t strain something. I was just being friendly.”

Summary
Stiles has encountered a fair share of monsters before, way out of his league - the kinds that children are afraid are hiding in their closets and under the bed.
He’d even become one himself when he was void. The nogitsune was in his house, his body, and his mind.
But the worst monster he’s ever faced took even more from him and got away with it.
It’s why Stiles has never really been as terrified of werewolves and kanimas and darachs as he should have been. They’re really not that scary, relatively speaking, and he has a whole team on his side. They always found a way to win - until they lost someone they really loved.
Stiles doesn’t know how to be normal, not after everything he’s done and everyone he’s hurt. The nogitsune is gone, but another monster is on its heels.
His uncle is back. And Stiles has never felt more alone.
NOTE - This story is 14 chapters + a short epilogue. Any postings beyond 15 are “extra” materials, such as an alternate ending, bonus scenes, author’s notes, etc. This story is complete at 15/15, but installment counts will go up (16/16 and so on) with extras.
