“I’m going crazy,” Lando whispered to himself with a dry chuckle, dragging a hand down his face. “What’re you supposed to be? Some fucked up version of the ghost of Christmas past?” He spat.
“I’m you,” Oscar replied with a bored look.
Lando scoffed and tucked his knees as close as possible to his chest, an unnerving feeling growing. “No you’re not, you’re- I don’t even know what you are.”
Oscar smirked to himself, a hit of amusement growing on his face. “I mean, I’m Oscar- the Oscar you knew- but I’m also you.”
There was a beat of silence, and then, “What?” Lando asked exasperatedly.

During a golden, sun-drenched Monaco summer the Mclaren team takes a rare break. The villa they stay at is quiet, heavy with heat and the soft stillness of time off.
Oscar arrives in the wake of a quiet breakup with Lily, carrying the silence of a man still figuring out what he’s lost. He’s withdrawn, his mind a haze of bitter thoughts.
Lando watches from the edges, heart soft and aching. His crush on Oscar is old and carefully hidden, but now, without the noise of the track or the pressure of the season, something fragile begins to stir.
In the space between cicadas and salt-kissed afternoons, conversations grow more honest. Oscar is lonely. Lando is hopeful.
And sometimes, hope lingers even when it’s sunburnt, peeling and sore, but still alive under the skin.

“Hello.” An accented voice came from behind Lando.
“Hello,” Lando responded meekly, like a child caught drawing on the walls. He didn’t turn around just yet, already eager to plan his escape before the unknown figure could see his face.
“It doesn’t bite, by the way- the bike, that is- although, it was entertaining to watch you jump a mile. It won’t hurt you.” He recognised the accent immediately; there was only so much hanging around Daniel you could do before you became accustomed to an Australian’s way of language.
“Could’ve fooled me,” Lando scoffed. “That orange is enough to scar someone’s eyes. Someone could probably claim against that.”
“I don’t know about that, but sure.” The man gave a small laugh.

Lando is a florist in Harlow Street, a close community town, and Oscar is the new tattoo artist that caught his attention.

“Dude, Spiderman was opposite the building again! He’s been there so much recently, I’m starting to think he lives here or something.”
Oscar choked on a french fry, lightly patting his chest and grabbing his drink to wash it down. “Have you thought about the fact that he probably likes the area?”
“No! He goes there with a hoodie and a backpack, he’s probably on his way home or something! Could you imagine? Spiderman could actually live in the flats opposite us!” Lando exclaimed, turning his head to the window and he could slightly see the same building. The world now becoming suffocated by the increasing darkness, the sunset long gone.
Oscar pinched the bridge of his nose, “I think you’re reading into this way too much, mate.”
OR
Lando is obsessed with the friendly-neighbourhood Spiderman and Oscar is his good best friend that listens.

So, if someone saw him right now, humming to himself in a warehouse in the middle of nowhere, sawing a man into pieces, they’d probably say ‘There were no signs!’, and they’d be right.
Lando didn’t have any of the three signs of being a serial killer because he wasn’t one. He didn’t kill because he enjoyed it, he killed because he had to. He had to protect Oscar.
