Rozanov’s brow furrows. “Why would I be in Boston?”
“You, you’re captain. Raiders. Boston.”
The room is silent except for the beeping of monitors.
In 2023, Shane takes a bad hit on the ice. When he wakes up, the last thing he remembers is a tuna melt.

“I felt…bad. It felt bad. I had missed you so much and then I finally saw you again and you -” Shane cut himself off. “I know you didn’t mean to,” he started again. “I know you weren’t trying to be… I don’t know. You didn’t mean to.”
“I didn’t mean to what?” Ilya’s pulse quickened. Shane wouldn’t meet his eye.
Shane took a deep breath. “You didn’t mean to hurt me.”
Ilya felt the words like a sucker punch to the stomach. He swallowed hard, fighting to keep his voice level. “I hurt you?”
___________An offhand comment from Yuna triggers a conversation between Shane and Ilya about that night in Ilya's Vegas penthouse after the MLH awards. Ilya knew he had fucked up, but maybe not how much. Maybe now he can make up for it.

Summary
The Swiss National League doesn’t care about the legendary Hollander-Rozanov rivalry. When the MLH can’t negotiate with the Hockey Players’ Union in time to prevent a hockey lockout at the start of the 2015 season, the Zürich Lions jump at the chance to sign both Shane and Ilya to short-term contracts. For four months in Switzerland, they share a team, a line, a house, and a bed.
Then the lockout ends in January, and it’s time to go back. Back to different countries, cities, lives. Beds.
Reentry is harder than expected.
