Peter wakes up shot, three days behind on everything, with Frank at the window and a vigil outside. Jean is already gone, and he has no idea where she went.
This is what should have been the end of it. Instead, the connection that remains between them draws them somewhere none of them understands. -

Summary
Peter Parker has gotten used to spending important days like any other: fixing his suit, paying rent, patrolling Queens and trying not to think too hard about the people who are no longer there with him.
What begins as another ordinary August day turns into something quieter and stranger, as two people who have spent more time saving each other than actually knowing each other try, somewhat awkwardly, to change that. -

Summary
⚠ Major spoilers for the Re:Zero Web Novel, including the currently released chapters of Arc 10. Please continue only if you are caught up or don’t mind spoilers.
Someone killed Miklotov McMahon, and the blame has landed on Crusch, with Subaru and Beatrice dragged in as accomplices. At the Royal Castle, the Council of Wise Men wants to know how a man with no records and no history that adds up ended up in the middle of it. When Emilia won't give him up, she and Ram get "confined for their own protection" at the Royal Residence instead. The rest of the Emilia Camp is loose in the capital and somebody's left one way out of the city suspiciously unguarded.Subaru knows what going back for Emilia would cost: her candidacy, every accusation against him confirmed, her walking straight into the middle of whoever set this up. He should stay hidden with Beatrice and Crusch and let it be.
He needs to see her face anyway. And after holding everyone else together for days, so does she.
An Arc 10 canon-divergence story.
