Summary
Dick remembers his first time being Robin. Nine years old, with a smile so bright he could've lit up all of Gotham on her deepest, darkest night. He remembers looking at Bruce, at Batman, and thinking: I'm gonna be him one day.
Dick thinks about Bruce now, about going out every night and coming home covered in aches and bruises, about Alfred's face creased with worry. Dick thinks: Maybe I don't want to be him anymore.

Summary
Before the Team's failsafe simulation, it seemed like Dick's future was clear—he'd fight the good fight, then take up the Batman mantle when Bruce either retired or died protecting the innocent. Now, after being in Batman's shoes, he finds himself no longer wanting to wind up like his mentor.
Dick is supposed to lead this Team someday, but he doesn't want to be the kind of leader Batman is. Fortunately, he's not alone.

Summary
It was what he believed to be his final moments, his heart was racing with adrenaline and more, and there was not much to do in this situation other than to get M'gann and J'onn out of the ship. "Six seconds remaining," Robin said shakily, his anxieties about death finally getting to him, "Let's make `em count."
That's when everything's changed, that's when Dick Grayson knew, he wanted to die next to Wally West. Though, he knew that Wally probably didn't want to die next to him.
