Summary

Summary

Summary
He would allow Vegas anything, which was why he didn’t complain when he woke up in the middle of the night to find Vegas’s side of the bed empty. The first few times it happened, Pete had panicked to the point of nearly making himself sick.
As Vegas slipped back into their bedroom, Pete had gone still. He pretended to be asleep as the bed dipped as Vegas climbed back in to wrap around Pete, kissing the back of his neck.
Once Pete got it through his head that Vegas was fine and hadn’t abandoned him, his curiosity grew.
Was he pacing the halls in pain to hide it from Pete? That would be strange, as Pete had already seen the worst phases of his recovery. Vegas had gotten mean at times, had snapped and snarled, but Pete knew he was just hurting. He had stroked Vegas’s head while he sobbed more than once, the pain and frustration having broken down Vegas’s mental fortitude.
He should not have anything to hide.
Not from Pete.
