“What made you want to write letters?” Chuuya asked.
He thought about the words. They were embossed clearly in his head, his tongue held only by the force of his mouth clamping down onto his emotions.
He didn’t know what would end up happening if he didn’t give into his desires to at least soothe his dangerous thoughts. Ones that talked about love, ones that talked about his yearning. Thoughts that he had absolutely no control over—and that fact terrified him.
Who was this other being who dared to cling onto Chuuya as if he were his only lifeline, who wanted to wrap his arms around Chuuya’s body and inhale his musky scents? Who was this other person who wanted to tenderly cradle Chuuya’s face in his hands and to kiss him so gently that Dazai wouldn’t understand what was going on?
“...I was bored,” Dazai said. It wasn’t a complete lie, per se.

Meruem grew tired and insisted that he would rest a while, begging Komugi to stay by his side until he woke up. Komugi obliged him, of course. Her heart wrenching at the thought that for the first time in her life she was needed, wanted. Something at that moment changed him, she could tell. Meruem closed his eyes and asked Komugi to say his name one last time. They both knew they would pass soon.
But then, they woke up.
An AU where the poor man's rose wasn't strong enough to kill Meruem, and the pair are left to collect the scraps of the aftermath and have to start a new life together.
