Shion gasped at the same time she tried to interject, causing her to choke on air for a few seconds. “What? Ridiculous! I just wanted to put him in his place! It had nothing to do with you.”
Even to herself, her words sounded flat and unconvincing.
“Shiiiooon...” Aqua hummed again. “Just admit it, you enjoy my company.”

With a dream-filled voice, she eventually whispered. “It sounds beautiful.” Then, she blinked, shaking her head before turning back to face Marine who once again, found herself mesmerized by deep blue eyes. “I would love to see it one day.” The glint of sorrow in the lady’s eyes betrayed the fact that Reine herself didn’t seem to believe she ever would.
Instinctively, in hope of erasing the gloom from Reine’s expression, Marine blurted out. “I could take you there.” Once she realized what she had said, the pirate's heart skipped a beat as crimson crept up her neck.
Reine giggled, bringing a gloved hand to her mouth as if to hide her amusement. “Be careful about saying things like this, I could take you up on that. Which reminds me, I don’t think I actually caught your name.”

It’s one of those nights where the air is fresh, and clear, and utterly suffocating. With the moon hiding in the shadows of dark clouds, the world feels small and compacted, like everything there is to see is restricted to one’s vision field, and Gura is restless. It’s the kind of unrest where her bones feel like they have a mind of their own, and she feels disconnected like a glitch in a still loading texture on a computer.
When that happens, she likes to be alone, most of the time. Sometimes she doesn’t. But how do you tell someone ‘I feel like my insides are eating me alive, and I just want to scream’ without being looked at weirdly. She doesn’t like that, people looking at her weird. She has made so many efforts to understand how people worked, to coexist with them, sometimes she’s taken aback when she remembers that kindness is not a choice made by everyone. But then again, she understands, for she has been unkind at many occasions, and she forgives them, always.
This night, she doesn’t have to ask, because Death comes for her on her own.

Settled under a kotatsu, a mug of steaming tea on her left and her graphic tablet on her right, she was the picture perfect of comfort. However, her current doodles were being totally ignored as her eyes were fixated upon the duo interacting in front of her that had captured her total attention. Kiara and Calli’s antics were no stranger to her by any means, but witnessing it in the context of a casual afternoon between friends made it take on a whole other dimension. Intimate. Almost too intimate.
