Summary
God has a way of playing tricks on Shane Hollander. Sometimes it’s simple; losing the faceoff regardless of how certain he is he’ll win. Forgoing the extra doggy bags just once when he thinks Anya will spare him. Fucking Ilya raw for the first time after years of blissful pegging.
The last one is his most recent blunder. God’s latest joke pulled on him, like both lines of the positive test is a higher power flipping off Shane Hollander personally. Of course, he and Ilya are thrilled. The journey of pregnancy brings out a myriad of new sides to both Shane and Ilya. Neither are complaining about the recent revelations.

Summary
He makes it to an empty hallway. It’s quiet but he can hear the faraway buzz of usual nighttime hospital noises. He braces a hand against the wall, feeling his pulse thread faster and faster even at a stand still, he ducks his head and squeezes his eyes closed shut as curls fall over his sweating forehead.
He hated the thoughts that circled around in his mind like a vicious whirlpool: of David laying there so deathly still and unwell, of his mother in her own bed, slumped and pale, of his father on that cold, metal table in a quiet Russian morgue. He bit back the bile that rushed up the back of his throat.
He’d never had much luck with his own family back in Russia but he’d been welcomed so openly into Shane’s, embraced by their love, folding him in like he was one of their own — he’d just never really given any of it much thought of what it’d be like to have to lose one of them, too.

Summary
Ilya knows basic biology. He has known how babies are made since he was young. He has spent a not inconsiderable amount of his life trying to avoid such a thing. He knows in his mind that it is impossible to get Shane pregnant.
His body, however, only knows that he is inside the person he loves most in the entire world, and it wants. It wants to take root and ripen and grow into something they can hold. "You would give me this? If we could?"
Shane lets out a shuddering breath and a rivulet of sweat rolls down his chest with it. "I would give you anything." He leans down, his lips brushing against Ilya's. "Anything."
