    "A 10-year-old Steve fiddles with the bandages on his fingers as he waits for his name to be called on stage. His parents had signed him up for a competition, he didn't bother to remember the name of, but he knows it's supposed to be a big deal. Well, not to him, but a big deal to his parents. Which makes Steve want to laugh because his parents didn't even bother to show.

     

    Steve taps his foot anxiously as he sits in one of the waiting chairs when a backstage assistance comes and tells him it'll be his turn in 15 minutes. Steve clutches onto his violin case and goes to wait on the sidelines of the stage. He can't help but take a peek at the audience."

     



    (Post s4 but the last episode doesn't exist and Vecna is dead. Everyone lives: Canon-Divergent: Sort-of Canon-Complain: For context, assume that Eddie still got bit by bats, but they weren't as bad as in the show, and he powered through it like Steve did. Robin still got trapped in the vines, but Nancy helped her. Everyone goes to the Upside Down to kill Vecna there. Chapter 1 was originally written before vol 2 came out.)
