Summary
“That scarf brings out your eyes, ja?” Klavier murmurs as they walk into the courthouse, maybe a little too close to one another. Any other time, any other person, and Apollo would brush it off as a joke. He’s brushed off almost that exact comment from Klavier before.
But this time—this time, it both settles and doesn’t quite settle in his chest. Because, God, Klavier really, truly thinks this shitty scarf from high school, frayed and one good breeze away from falling apart, looks good on him.
It’s the most pleasant realization of, oh, this is what it could be like. This is how it could feel all the time.
Or: Apollo, Klavier, and just a few of the ways they fall in love (and stay there).

And Apollo jolts wide awake, because that—because that was real. That wasn’t Gavin brushing Apollo’s hair out of his face, no matter how much Apollo tries to convince himself that it was. No, that was Gavin kissing his forehead. The warmth lingers, and all Apollo can think is, I want him to do it again.
Or: a pipe bursts in Apollo's apartment, and Gavin is a gracious host.

Summary
When Apollo is volunteered by Phoenix to be the model for a police sketch workshop, he doesn’t exactly enjoy having his appearance picked apart by his coworkers. Not that he’s self conscious, it’s just that being on the other end of perception is a rather uncomfortable feeling.
And hearing Klavier Gavin describe him like… that certainly doesn’t help with the embarrassment.

His surroundings darkened as a series of chains both in front of and behind Apollo extended from the floor and walls to the ceiling, accompanied by loud clatters as four large, red locks materialized onto them.

“We’re calling ‘cause I don’t believe you’re dating Apollo,” Athena chimes, because of course she does. “He’s telling me he’s got all these big plans with his boyfriend that mean he can’t come out drinking with me, and, well, forgive me if Apollo doesn’t seem enough of a catch for that—”
Klavier is silent. There’s not even background noise from his end of the call. Take the fucking hint, Apollo thinks hysterically. Then Klavier laughs under his breath, and Apollo's fucked, he’s absolutely fucked—“Ach, you let the cat out of the bag so soon, schatzi?”
Or: Klavier's a good friend. Good enough that he'll fake-date Apollo to protect him from Athena's wrath, even.
