“Chosen by Magic” by Blue_Eyed_Dreamer
On Eddie’s first day Buck becomes Guardian of a child in need so their whole rival meeting/insta-friend is delayed. Buck is adorably confused and understandably emotional for most of the story.
(New inexplicable baby method: in this world kids under 7 can escape danger through magical teleportation to a protective adult they’ve met before.)
The dad!Buck is great and he cleans house on several of the issues he was facing in the show (the ’teasing’ from his coworkers, Bobby being oblivious, the Abby situation, Maddie showing up and all that mess, etc). Great re-read -

Knowing When to Give Up by AthenaReigns: Post Hardeen arc Obi-Wan learns to accept that he can’t force forgiveness and he shouldn’t have to beg for it the rest of his life from his loved ones (and people who were barely affected). I hate this arc in universe, but love this fallout fix.

It’s like...they have something like this too, right?” She gestures outward impatiently, and Bruce forces himself not to flinch at her casual use of they. “Only they have words written down instead.”
“Soulmates,” Clark says, his voice strained.
The word hits Bruce like a bullet through the lung. He keeps his face perfectly relaxed, his heartbeat calm and regular, as he realizes (too late, he's always too late) that he should have expected this all along.
