Henry takes hold of both his hands, fingertips stroking over his pulse points soothingly. “Alex, breathe.” He waits until Alex manages a slow, slightly shaky breath, then opens his mouth and throws him a fucking curveball. “What if you didn’t come clean?”

“Do you— Is there anyone you wish it was?” Henry is definitely scared of the answer. A part of him knows he and Alex can probably never become a reality but it doesn’t stop him from being jealous of anyone Alex might have an interest in.
“Not really.” Henry tries his best to hide his smile at Alex’s answer.

Alex has lived in this apartment for a few months, and it’s fine… for the most part. The rent isn’t exactly cheap, but it has nice amenities and it’s a convenient location. But considering how much he pays every month, and how new the building is, the walls shouldn’t be this thin.
He’s sitting at his desk on a Friday night, his laptop propped up on a stand and several empty coffee mugs around him. He taps his pen on his massive law textbook and pulls his glasses off for a brief moment to rub his eyes when he hears voices in the hallway. His unit is near the elevators so yes, he does sometimes hear people going to the elevators, but that’s fine.
What isn’t fine is the sound of someone playing the piano at ten or eleven o’clock at night. He has no idea if it’s the unit next door, above or below him. But he does know that it’s starting to drive him crazy.
alex's neighbour plays the piano late at night when he's studying, and he hates it. when he meets his neighbour henry, he starts to form a crush on the hot british neighbour with a cute tax attorney beagle.
