“I need a bodyguard,” Simon’s voice is angry through the phone, but there are undercurrents of other emotions too that Wilhelm can hear from Simon’s panicked breaths and clipped vowels. Hurt. Desperation. Fear. “Hell, I need a whole team of bodyguards, or a security plan or something.”
“What’s going on?” Wilhelm is seriously worried now. It doesn’t matter that they’re on a break right now, it doesn’t matter that everything’s gone to shit with them. This is Simon. Wilhelm loves him, and he’s terrified because something’s gone horribly, horribly wrong.
“I’m in the hospital.” Simon says bluntly, and Wilhelm almost stops breathing.

Maybe you can have that Shakespearean romance with a Sprucewood guy, Wille.
Wilhelm scoffed audibly. If they were anything like the idiot who had just stormed in, or the other idiot he was unfortunately related to, then no thanks.
No way he’d want a nightmarish romance like that.
Or: An AU where Wilhelm and Simon meet for the first time during the rowing competition in Hillerska, but there's a catch: Simon is from the Sprucewood team, who have been at war with Forest Ridge for a long time.
Alternatively, a Romeo and Juliet parody AU, but instead of laying our scene in Verona, it's in Hillerska. And instead of a Shakespearean tragedy, it's more of a romantic-comedy.

Nils tugs him into a half-hug, “Relax, Wille we don’t care about that. We just want to know if you’d fuck one.”
Wille licks his lips, his mouth suddenly dry. “Yeah,” he clears his throat, “I wouldn’t be opposed to it.”
“Wouldn’t be opposed to it, he says,” Vincent cackles, “like he wasn’t - in the church - with the fucking choir - ”
Wilhelm has a feeling he knows where this is going and something hesitantly hopeful rises in him.
