There was a pause on the other end, the weight of Kunikida's words hanging in the air between them. When Dazai finally spoke, his voice was softer, tinged with a vulnerability that was rare for him.
"Thank you, Kunikida-kun," he said, his tone devoid of its usual playful edge. "I think I've said this before, but I'm so glad you were my partner."
Kunikida's chest tightened at Dazai's words, a swell of emotion rising within him. "I'm glad to hear that," he replied earnestly. "Despite our differences, I wouldn't have wanted anyone else by my side."

Summary
A bright smile appears on Dazai's face – tired but sincerely gratified. The faint moonlight from the window dances across their faces, lighting up their eyes. Dazai steps forward and wraps his arms around Kunikida's waist, burying his head into his chest.
“I've missed you more than you know, Kunikida-kun…” he whispers quietly.
Kunikida closes his eyes, feeling the warmth of Dazai's body against his before slowly returning the hug.
Or, in the wake of the Decay of Angels incident, right after the dust settles, Dazai was collected as payment for the Port Mafia's aid. On a quiet night, two months after the collection, our boys have a reunion.
