Summary
Eddie would pretend that Buck just so happens to be the easiest target for his gaze, his stupidly loud laughter floating over the din of the bar and his few inches on everyone else at the table making him the first noticeable thing in the room. It would be a lie, of course. Eddie’s eyes are always drawn to Buck first, no matter how many distractions may try to catch his attention.
And as Buck glances up from everyone else his eyes meet Eddie’s instantly, like it’s the most natural thing in the world.
Eddie’s heart swells at that, almost (but not quite) squashing that bitter taste of you don’t belong here, you’re not a real firefighter lingering on his tongue.

Summary
Buck is already on his feet, with a smile warm enough to loosen a bit of that awful tension from Eddie’s chest as he spreads his arms out wide. And Eddie literally saw him two days ago but that doesn’t stop him from meeting Buck halfway, closing the distance between them as he throws his own arms tight around Buck, his face fitting perfectly into the crook of his neck.
“I was starting to worry you’d changed your mind,” Buck jokes – but Eddie knows him well enough by now to hear the bit of truth laced in his words. His breath tickles Eddie’s ear and Eddie tries hard not to dip his head and breathe in Buck’s familiar aftershave. Instead, he casts his eyes over Buck’s shoulder, meeting Lucy’s and he’s pretty sure he isn’t imagining the slight glare she’s sending his way.
Whatever.
She’s barely been here a few months, did she seriously think she could replace him that easily?

Written for the 911 fic gift exchange. The prompt I picked was a 5+1 series where Buck and Eddie are married and the 5 things are someone else finding out and the +1 where they tell everyone. And so this was born!
It went like this.
They’d been dating for about a year. Eddie knew from the very start that Buck was it for him now, that he would want nobody else in his entire life. And it seemed like Buck felt the same way. It was easy to ask Buck to marry him, on a quiet night at home. It had been nothing special but at the same time the most special thing in the world. He’d picked out a ring after their first date, and it had been sitting hidden in a sock for months in the back of his drawers. Christopher knew he wanted to marry Buck, and he’d been so overjoyed at the idea, but it had only been Christopher that he’d told. And then one night, when he’d looked over the kitchen table at his boys, Christopher with tomato sauce all over his mouth and Buck with it in his hair and smudged over his cheek, both of them giggling at the other’s face, he knew there and then that he couldn’t go another day without asking Buck to be his husbandBookmarked by wolfbykes

“I’m sure they’re both simply…eager,” Coran says, fighting back a smile.

Summary
“Cap, I’m really not loving the sounds this building is making,” Hen calls over the radio maybe ten minutes after another check-in. The sounds she’s talking about reach Bobby’s ears moments later, and he has to fight the urge to run in and pull his team out by the scruffs of their necks.
“I think it’s coming from the south wing, Cap,” Chimney adds.
“Buck, Eddie, get out of there. I mean it,” Bobby demands. “Hen, Chim, is your area safe for the time being?”
“Think so, but we’re done with our sweep so we aren’t sticking around to find out,” Hen answers.
“We’re finished up, too, Cap,” Buck assures Bobby. He’s cut off by the Incident Commander calling for an evac of all teams still inside, clearly just as concerned about the groaning noises no building should be making. “We’re about thirty yards from the ex-” Static. Moments later, Bobby can only watch in horror as part of the south end of the building collapses on itself.
In which Buck saves Eddie at the risk of his own safety, and he's down for so long his PASS device goes off. It's enough to shake the will to keep their relationship a secret right out of Eddie.

Keith's mouth - without any input from his brain at all, what the hell - says intelligently, "You're straight."
