This is, Sirius knows, where he should reel off their drinks order, but he momentarily loses the ability to form words because this man is... well, he’s really fucking beautiful. His hair is curly; long on the top but cut short on the sides, and it’s golden, everything about him is just golden. His eyes and his freckles and the impatient scowl on his face. His lips are full and unimpressed, a little rough from the inclement weather, pursed together as he waits for Sirius to speak.
“Erm,” Sirius mumbles, losing all of his usual swagger. “Three pints of bitter please.”
The man nods, pulls the pints with practised proficiency and hands the card machine to Sirius. “Ten sixty.”
Sirius starts. “For all three drinks?”
The man arches an eyebrow. “Not from round these parts, are you?”

Sirius Black was never sorted into Gryffindor. To protect the only family he had, Sirius was sorted into Slytherin, and nothing was the same. He kept his head down, and kept his cards close to his chest as he took the Dark Mark, dropped out of school and eventually sold out his entire family and Death Eater intel during the first war. 8 years later, after fleeing to Greece with his brother and focusing on nothing but literal home improvement, Sirius finds himself back in London and enrolled in Adult Education courses to finish his schooling--including Defense Against the Dark Arts taught by none other than Remus Lupin.
Sirius could fix anything. Sirius could take care of a home, take care of his family, take care of an entire wizarding world. And Remus? He could take care of Sirius.
Rated M for swearing and some hefty dom/sub dynamic (they eventually fade out with the evolution of the fic but it is there)

Some pathetic part of himself had hoped for a romantic first message, maybe a doodle during class or even a quick reminder for an important appointment, but seeing a phone number, that was clearly not meant for him, accompanied by a ‘CALL ME ;)’ was -in all honesty- disappointing.

“Would you like some advice?” Remus asked him, leaning in to speak over the loud music and their laughing friends.
“I’m all ears,” Sirius responded, shifting closer and thinking he’d take any opportunity to have Remus’s undivided attention.
“Well, firstly, when you swing your arm back, it doesn’t swing straight.”
Sirius snorted beer up his nose and spluttered mortifyingly as he coughed. He covered his nose and mouth with his free hand while he put down his beer and blindly fumbled for a napkin as he coughed, wishing the floor would swallow him whole.
“Okay?” he heard as a warm hand placed a paper napkin into his palm and he used it to clean himself up.
“Y-yeah,” ... “It’s just that not swinging straight has been a persistent theme in my journey so far.”

Fuck. He did not have the spoons to be polite to this prick just to get some flowers for his father's funeral. As he began to turn to leave he heard the impolite fucker speak."Are the flowers really that off-putting, or is it just me?" asked the chocolaty smooth voice.
Fuck. Remus had always had a thing for chocolate.

Summary
Remus was sure there was nothing more mesmerising in this world than the way Sirius Black’s silky hair flowed down his shoulders, or how he walked with a light sway in his hips, or the spark in his eyes as he smiled at him with faintly flushed cheeks.
He was proven wrong the minute Sirius stepped onto the rink. Oh, how wrong he was. If Remus was hypnotised before by just watching him walk, it was nothing compared to this. The man looked like he was born to be on the ice, more comfortable than a bird in the sky as he took long strides and started doing his thing, strong and graceful. A powerful dance, trailed by flying specks of ice shimmering in its wake. And fuck if the way Sirius moved his body, completely in control, didn’t make Remus’ stomach flutter. It didn’t help that his skating clothes left very little to the imagination, and all Remus could do was gape at him from the sideline trying not to drool on himself.

OR, Sirius and Regulus are figure skaters and new in town, and it just so happens that Remus works as a manager at the ice rink they go to. Ensues pinning.
