“Korra has always hated mornings, it’s just that this morning is particularly offensive. Maybe it’s the way the sun is blindingly bright and shining directly into her face, or maybe it’s the shrill beeping of her red analogue alarm clock, or maybe it’s how fucking loudly Opal is getting ready. All of these things used to seem fairly tame, but on the morning after her boyfriend- well, ex-boyfriend- had dumped her, Korra’s annoyance level absolutely rocketed.”

She pauses, looks up before crawling over me until our faces are barely a brush apart. She kisses me then, closes her eyes and sinks into it while wrapping her arms around my neck. She slips a leg between mine, rolling up until her skin meets the dampness between my legs.
'Because you’re amazing,” she whispers as she pulls away. “Because you’re kind and selfless and brave.'
'But I’m… I’m not good enough for you,' I say, and I almost want to cry."
