“It’s a 5K race held on Thanksgiving morning. You know, go out and get some exercise before gorging on food all day, that sorta thing. Most places call ‘em turkey trots, although ours is actually just called the Thanksgiving Day 5K. But Hen likes the name so…” Ted shrugs, his smile soft as he looks over at his son.
“Turkey trot sounds better! And more fun.” Henry grins.
“I can’t say that any of it sounds much fun for me, except the fact that you’re using the metric system to gauge the distance.”

“You been watchin’ The Parent Trap again, Hen?” Ted asks distractedly as he tugs at the zipper on his backpack. “Because that sure sounds like a line from it.”
“Actually, I think you’ll find that they’re talking about the Concorde, not a private jet,” comes the reply, but not from Henry.

Each time Regina’s eyes closed and her breathing got too weak, Emma snapped her fingers in front of Regina’s face, forcing Regina to focus on her. “Stay with me, Regina,” she said. “You have to stay with me.” Emma talked until her voice was so hoarse she thought she couldn’t physically talk anymore, and then somehow managed to keep talking. She told Regina all of her best bail-bonds-person stories, her adventures as a juvenile delinquent, anything and everything she could think of to keep Regina’s attention on her, keep her from drifting away.
