“It’s a 5K race held on Thanksgiving morning. You know, go out and get some exercise before gorging on food all day, that sorta thing. Most places call ‘em turkey trots, although ours is actually just called the Thanksgiving Day 5K. But Hen likes the name so…” Ted shrugs, his smile soft as he looks over at his son.
“Turkey trot sounds better! And more fun.” Henry grins.
“I can’t say that any of it sounds much fun for me, except the fact that you’re using the metric system to gauge the distance.”

“Actually, I think you’ll find that they’re talking about the Concorde, not a private jet,” comes the reply, but not from Henry.

Henry, who is literally shaking with excitement, hasn’t said a word. What is happening?
And then they’re rounding the building and rather like Alice in Wonderland, things are being revealed but they’re not making any real sense. Curiouser and curiouser.
Because Henry is inside a fenced in area of yard, sitting on the ground, petting a dog.

She is broken out of her thoughts by her phone alarm, reminding her of Ted’s presser.
