“Weapons should have blind loyalty for their owners. Despite all the times Blight thumped it in his head, 712 only truly understood it the moment you started being his owner.
Of course, he had never failed in anything Blight demanded on purpose. He lowered his head, jammed his teeth, killed every target they assigned to him — even when the said targets were his own feelings and reactions — and obeyed every single command they gave him. He was nothing but the perfect tool to Blight.
But he never felt anything compared to the pure devotion he has towards you.
He’d rip his throat open with his own nails without hesitation if you said that was what you wanted him to do. He’d fall onto his knees and worship your boots with his tongue if he thought this would please you. “It wasn’t always like this, all this indignation. The talk with Reynold made her mad, yes, but she dealt with similar things before. It shouldn’t— It wasn’t supposed to make her angry to the point of boiling through days and days. It was never like this before. She never felt so off control, so willing to be cruel and make them hurt. She has the urge to get revenge, to force them to feel the same impotence she did. It kind of scares her.
Maybe it was because she let her anger accumulate through so much time that she finally reached her limits.
It started like a slow but steady pattern of a winter drizzle, one tiny thought dropping into her consciousness after the other, until her bucket was so full it leaked and she couldn’t carry it peacefully anymore. Now she’s drowning in an overflow of rage and hate, both for Penelope’s life and hers, so strong and bitter that it forces her to give all of her attention to it.”
