Robert inclined his head in Flambae's direction. "That's the thing, though, isn't it? You need everyone to think that you can't." He side-eyed him soberly. "To think you're someone you're not. And not just for a second—for days. Weeks. Months."
The blinds slithered across the windows, wreathing the room in a dim, smothered light. Flambae narrowed his eyes.
Robert shook his head slowly. "Doesn't take very long for that to get really, really, really old."

Hans grabs his bicep, fingers digging into the flesh the way he might test a fruit for ripeness. Henry curls his forearm and makes a fist beneath the water, squeezing tight. He watches Hans' face: the flushed redness of heat and strong drink, the shock as his fingers meet firm resistance.
Hans slides his palm over the wet fabric, pressing hard, testing the edges of the muscle. Henry feels like a horse skittish about being shoed, restrained from bolting only by a strong grip on the bridle.

“That’s quite the banquet you’ve made...” He finally commented, when he knew the other’s friends would be too busy eating to hear them. The brunette had once again put on his usual smile, cup settled down on the counter while he focused on Kurusu, always curious to see how the other would respond to his prompts.
“What can I say? I love feeding the people I love."
Such a simple answer, and yet, Goro hadn’t thought he’d be the kind to throw around the word “love” like that, his expression making it hard to deny that he somehow meant it. “I didn’t know you were so sentimental, Kurusu-kun.” He was still smiling, hands on his hips like it was just the most normal thing he’d heard. Love. How foolish.

Summary
The room around him is fuzzy, the face of his lover even more so. But within an instant, things come into focus. And then, the only possible thing that Ferdinand von Aegir can do is scream bloody murder.
Several things happen within the course of a few seconds. First, the person lying in bed with him opens cloudy, lamplight green eyes. Second, the person immediately lurches backwards, rolling off the bed and hitting the floor with a thunk. Third, Ferdinand attempts to pull back, himself, but his elbow catches on something soft, which sends his head snapping back down towards the pillows with a shooting pain running down his neck. Fourth, Ferdinand lets out a mighty curse.
“Not a dream,” Ferdinand says, voice faint but certain.
“A nightmare,” Hubert von Vestra agrees flatly.
When Edelgard turns against the Church, Ferdinand is tortured with indecision. He thinks things cannot get any worse, until a spell sends him to a future where he is Prime Minister of the Adrestian Empire, adviser to Emperor Edelgard, and husband of one Hubert von Vestra. Oh, and Hubert is along for the ride, as well.
