Many years ago, Diva's entire world fell apart. She lost her army, then her Chevaliers, then her daughters, and finally her hope.
Left with nothing but her own thoughts, she had finally realized how truly powerless she was and how absolutely clueless she had been to what went on behind the scenes of her own home. She had no money to her name, no strength left, no connections to anyone who could help her, absolutely nothing. Amshel made it this way on purpose—Diva had been his puppet, and only he controlled her strings. The truth devastated her and broke what was left of her black, shriveled heart.
When an all too familiar wave of drowsiness hit her for the last time, her mind raced with questions: What would happen to her after she fell asleep? Will she ever see her daughters again? Would they know who she is, or would she be forever a stranger in their eyes? Would Diva ever see Saya again? Would Saya even want to see her? What would Diva be like when she woke up?
