It’s in the same office, with this same ridiculous child who’s three years younger than his actual biological son, all up in his face, telling Goose that he will never want anyone the way he wants–
Hangman leers, “I’ll take that silence as a yes.”
Hangman is hot for teacher.

Summary
Gihun wasn’t like the other gulls.
He didn’t do the seasonal migration thing like the others. He liked to stay inland where the humans lived. There were plenty of food sources to choose from. His favorite was a tasty dumpster behind a sushi bar downtown. It was ruled by a gang of feral cats, but the occasional piece of uni was worth getting a claw to the face. Another nice spot was behind the mall where all the restaurants dumped their leftovers. And if Gihun wanted something healthy on a particular day, he’d head to one of the fish markets and steal a bite from an unfortunate stall.
His latest favorite haunt was the Golden Moon Stock Exchange tower. A little glasses-wearing man would come out a few times during the week and toss delicious things at Gihun while lighting up one of those crunchy little paper sticks.

Hwang Inho picked up on Junho’s third attempt. He sounded strangely out of breath even though it was the middle of the night.
“Junho, this had better be an emergency,” His older brother said, impatience clear in his voice. And then, Inho heard the sirens in the background and changed his tone. “Oh no, is it an actual emergency? What’s going on?”
He heard faint rustling on the other end and someone’s else’s muffled voice. Junho frowned. A horrible horrible thought occurred to him. He cupped a hand over the phone, turning so that his mother could not hear, and hissed down the line, “are you…did I interrupt you two having sex?”
“No,” Hwang Inho snapped back a little too quickly. “Why do I hear sirens? Are you ok?”

“Eh?” They’d given Gihun something for the pain and it was making him a little dizzy.
“My name and badge number,” The man said, his jaw clenched tight as he advised, “you should lodge a formal complaint to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency when you are able to walk, sir.”
“Oh…ok.”
“Did you remember what I just said?”
Gihun’s head lolled. He blinked groggily at the figure dressed in all black. “Are you my nurse? This needle in my arm hurts. Could you blow on it?”
The man didn’t move.
“Please?” He whined, blinking back tears.

“Fiber,” Inho muttered, “it’s good for you.”
“Ajusshi,” Seong Gihun chased down the food in his mouth with half a bottle of cherry soda and let out a thunderous belch that had heads turning from the surrounding tables. “Even though you look short and scary, you’re actually really nice.”
“My handcuffs are still in the car you know.”

“We’ll need to keep it down,” he heard Maverick saying from what he assumed was the kitchen. “I had some company last night—and he’s still sleeping.”
“Oh?” That was Bradshaw’s voice, unmistakable. “Did you and Hondo stay up drinking again?”
“No, sweetheart, not that kind of company.”
“So you and Penny—? I thought you said the two of you decided it wasn’t a good idea. And wait, you said he.”
“I did say he,” Maverick confirmed. “In fact, it’s—” That was his cue, if he’d ever heard one.
Annnnd…showtime.
Post mission, Hangman came up with a plan. Phase one—seduce Maverick. Phase two—flaunt the fling in Rooster’s face. Phase three—watch Rooster simmer and stew, furious over Hangman monopolizing his father figure. Phase four—make it clear to Rooster that he’ll leave Maverick’s bed…if he can get into Rooster’s. It seemed like a flawless plan. But he didn’t know that Rooster didn’t see Mav as a father figure. He didn’t know that Rooster was in love. And he sure didn’t expect that he’d start falling, too.

“Yeah,” Mav says, slowly like he’s being cautious. “I know you had some news as well, but we would love to just get it out of the way.”
“Wait, you had news too?” Rooster asks his dad.
Goose nods. “Yeah, we had something we wanted to share, but you two go first.”
“‘We’? Who the fuck is we?”
Hangman grins as Rooster shoots him a look, and he gives a little wave as confirmation.
Rooster gapes at him. “You?”
