jihoon woke up to the gentle pitter patter of the rain as it fell against his dorm window. despite the rain, he felt a warm coziness beside him, reminding him of yesterday’s ordeal of him rescuing a cat from the rain. he reached out his hand, searching to pet the cat. his hand met something soft and silky, petting it as he tried to fall back asleep.
he had expected a rumbling purr or a soft meow. but the sound that came from what jihoon was petting was a groan, a human groan.

dohoon takes a long drink from his bottle of sparkling blue soda, some spilling from the corner of his mouth and onto jihoon’s shoulder. it’s sticky, and the artificial blue dye leaves behind a stain on jihoon’s shirt, but jihoon finds that he doesn’t mind all that much.
jihoon takes a sip from his own bottle of soda. the cold fizz is refreshing on his tongue in this heat, and his eyes flutter closed for a moment. he lowers the bottle afterwards, screwing the cap back on before tilting his head back to look up at dohoon above him.
“hyung,” he starts, “if we’re still single in ten years, we should marry each other.”
or: jihoon watches the seasons pass him by. everything changes, and somehow nothing at all is different.
