For as long as anyone could remember, sharkpeople and merpeople had been mortal enemies. They certainly had been for as long as Lance had been alive. Luckily, merfolk lived in the safety of their shoals, while the sharks were more solitary creatures. However, should any single merperson stray from their group, they were as good as shark food. And it just so happened that one night Lance found himself all alone and far from home.

Summary
For his friend's sake, Richard stands as the best man at Asbel's wedding, wishing things could have turned out differently between them.
Asbel's life seems idyllic. He's married to the woman he loves, fulfilling his role as Lord of Lhant. Yet he begins to wonder how, despite his efforts, he's ended up living the exact life his father wanted for him.

Asbel was too soft-hearted for a vampire hunter. It didn't help that Richard was a very unusual vampire.
On the outskirts of the kingdom of Windor, commoners bar their doors at night, fearing the monsters that lurk in the darkness. Their only hope are the members of the Hunter’s Order, warriors who dedicate their lives to eliminating vampires. It is an indisputable consensus that vampires are vicious beasts, who want nothing more than to prey on helpless humans.
But Asbel’s beliefs are shattered when he meets Richard, a man who was turned into a vampire against his will.
