Summary
She folded because stopping meant remembering, and remembering meant facing what was gone.
Because that’s all she could do. Fold her grief into paper cranes and pretend they were something beautiful.
But they weren’t. They were just grief, wearing borrowed wings.
A thousand paper cranes. A thousand unsaid words. One storm. And a heart learning that letting go can be the hardest act of love.

“I’ll help you escape from here. You can help me go onto the next game,” he says. Naib furrows his eyebrows. “You finished your job, no? And you’re not allowed to leave this place. Let’s be honest; we’ll probably be stuck here for as long as we can live. I can get you back home to your—Ah, who is waiting for you at home?” Norton inches closer, his eyes running up and down Naib’s physique. “A wife, maybe?”

Summary
“I’ve killed more than you can count, Eli. It was never your fault.” The military, the wars, the control of the Mélodis family, the poisoned idea that the Mélodis family has no need for useless people. They were never in control of their own fates.
Eli turns back to him, crystalline eyes reflecting the glow of the moon above and, just for a split second, Naib thinks this is how things should always be.

Hating Cunning was easy. Wishing death upon him day after days was almost as natural as breathing. Loving him was the opposite. Messy, chaotic, and impossible to truly comprehend.

Summary
Partner piece to my other work, Wrath.
Joseph hadn't paid him much mind at first, the boy with the white mask and snow-dusted coat. He wasn't particularly photogenic and didn't seem to have much of an interest in talking to anyone, so Joseph didn't bother him and gave him his space.
The boy seemed content with this arrangement. At least, he did at first. He hardly spared Joseph a single glance.
Or so Joseph thought.

Summary
"I thought," He started but hesitated and bit his lips, the spirit motioned for him to continue with a nudge of his head. "that fox spirits are cruel."
"They lie and trick, atleast that's what ma used to say." Naib continued fidgeting, avoiding the kitsune's gaze.
"She isn't wrong, we kitsune are vile and not to be trusted."
Naib never forgot the strange encounter he had in the forest, of the masked spirit haunting his dreams.
