“No matter what,” Naruto says, angling his head so Sasuke can really see him. So he can really understand. “I’d do it again.”
Sasuke stops moving.
Naruto looks at him fully. “All of it.”
And Naruto says it like it is not a debt. Like Sasuke does not have to pay him back by staying.

"I mean, you are so important to me," he continues.
Something flashes across Sasuke's face. Fear? Sadness? Naruto can't tell.
"We're close. And we've been through a lot together," he says.
Sasuke's eyes drop, and his hand tightens around his thigh.
"And I don't want to lose you," Naruto says. "Ever."
Sasuke looks up sharply. "Are you breaking up with me?"
"Breaking up— What?"

Summary
"It’s lively,” he settles with. It’s not a lie. It’s hard to call an orange flower obnoxious but Sasuke swears it looks like it’s been drinking orange food-dye with how pigmented and atrocious it looks.
Naruto smiles though like it’s a compliment. “I thought we could do this from now on.” Don't tell him Naruto is trying to implement more neon orange into their shared apartment now.
In which, Naruto tries his best to romance Sasuke but a misunderstanding makes it slightly harder.

That isn’t unusual: Sasuke has been in his dreams more nights than not since he can remember. Fighting Sasuke and winning, fighting Sasuke and losing, chasing after Sasuke and never catching up. Sasuke as a little boy, as a genin, as an old man.
But here, now, this dream―it’s one he hasn’t had before. -

“No, listen,” He presses on, the leftover bit of chain tangling in the grass with each slow step, “Ever since my parents… I’ve had trouble letting people in– even if I want to. It’s like there’s this gate, locked and guarded, and I can’t unlock it no matter how hard I try.”
Sasuke feels Naruto’s gaze like a brand, “Well,” He kicks away a pebble, playing with his fingers, “I know how to pick locks.”
Just like that, the tension cracks. It still exists, some unseen oppressive wall, but it lessens just enough for Sasuke to laugh, an honest, belly laugh, and say, “You can try.”
Or; Sasuke and Naruto escape a kidnapping. Lost in the desert, Sasuke finds more than just his way home.
