Summary
He does really like Akira, who is clever and fast on his feet and a particular kind of broken in the head that makes him weird about pain, and they do have a great deal of fun, and it is a relief to get to talk about what he’s doing for once in his life; it’s a relief to have someone who doesn’t expect him to be polite, to be charming, to be perfect— to have someone who wants him.
The problem with Akira, though, is that barring his affection for Goro he’s mostly a good person, and so sometimes when Goro does him favors he gets tetchy about it.

Goro was aware the Phantom Thieves' plan to have their leader captured by the police was stupidly dangerous, but it also seemed like a foolproof plan to tie up some loose ends and get Shido off his back for a while. No one had expected Akira would get drugged and beaten within an inch of his life; no one could have foreseen it coming.
