Eight-year-old Jamie Tutuola-Munch is attending one of Uncle Rafael Barba’s trials as an educational outing, sandwiched between her happily married dads, Fin and Munch. During recess, she casually drops a bombshell to a bailiff: Uncle Rafa is definitely going to marry Uncle Sonny someday because they look at each other “like Dad and Pops do.”
The courthouse gossip chain moves at lightspeed. By the end of the day the entire SVU squad room is buzzing with the news. Barba storms in demanding to know who started the rumor, only for Jamie to cheerfully confess it was her, because “it’s true!”
Caught completely off-guard, Barba looks to Carisi, who’s trying (and failing) to look innocent. In the end, Barba surrenders with fond exasperation, officially accepting “Uncle Rafa” status… on the condition that Jamie stops playing matchmaker.
She immediately counters with: movie night is mandatory, and Sonny better bring popcorn.
Fin’s dry “Y’all just got outed by an eight-year-old. Welcome.” seals it.
