Sighing he exits the page and keeps on scrolling. Nothing that is open catches his interest and the rest are closed. He's wondering how stale celery would taste dipped in pickle juice when his eyes land on Irina's Kitchen once more.
There's a phone number under the address. Shane bites his lower lip and wonders if he should call.
A woman with an accented voice picks up after the 5th ring.
“Hello?”
“Uh, hey, are you guys still open?”

So, okay. If this is something Rozanov is exceptional at, it stands to reason that Shane can be too. They’re perfectly matched on the ice. Anything he can do Shane can do better. That’s the goal: match (exceed) Rozanov in skill. Really, this is no different than any aspect of Shane’s life these days. Really, this is basically still hockey.
Or, how a closeted and sexually repressed 19-year old Shane Hollander buys a dildo and learns to deep throat.

Summary
Nothing could ever get rid of the ache Ilya feels when Shane backs out of his driveway, at the sight of the forced smile on his face Ilya can see through the windshield. He stands on the porch and he plays a sad, desperate game where the only rule is that Ilya lives another life where Shane does not have to go.
But after a little while some of the details make this game impossible. It’s a Tuesday night and Shane is letting Ilya work the knots out of his back, but he’s wearing a Metros shirt. Even after other-life Ilya tears this shirt off, throws it onto the living room floor to get his hands on the smooth warm expanse of his boyfriend’s back, it still feels wrong. The shirt lays crumpled at the edge of Ilya’s fantasy, forcing too many buts: but if Shane were on the Metros he would never be in Ottawa on a Tuesday, but even if he were they wouldn’t be slow and syrupy like Ilya is imagining, but Shane never lets Ilya massage him during the season because the Metros physio told him not to let an amateur mess up his work.

Heat spread across Ilya's face. His mouth fell open slightly. He let out a short, stuttered laugh of disbelief. This couldn't- he was straight, he wasn't-
“Finally got you at your own game.” Shane's smirk widened to a smile, his hand clapping down on Ilya's shoulder to squeeze it slightly. For once in his life, Ilya was unable to find his voice.
“Damn.” Shane laughed, jostling him a bit. “If I had known this was all it took to get you to shut the fuck up, I would have started flirting back years ago.”

When old college friends Ilya and Shane show up to their mutual best friend's wedding, they are ready to fulfill their duties as bridesmen. Even after years of not seeing each other, they fall right back into their usual banter.
Ilya loves to flirt with Shane. Shane loves to tell him to fuck off. It's a running a bit. Nothing more than a joke between two friends; because Shane is gay and Ilya is straight and it doesn't actually mean anything…until Shane finally decides to flirt back, and Ilya's world suddenly tilts on its axis.
