Summary
“If they let you, will you stay?” Steve says, and Bucky had figured they’d dance around it, so she’s surprised for a minute at Steve’s matter-of-fact tone.
“Will you?” she says, instead of answering. In the darkness, Steve’s face is mostly shadow. “Well, I’ve gone to all this trouble,” Bucky says. They’re close enough that she can feel the huff of Steve’s exhale.
“Yeah,” Steve says. “Yeah, me too.”
As the world tears itself apart, Steve and Bucky find places within it.
