“Hey, Fran,” Maya says, rolling over in bed; she tries to make out her girlfriend’s silhouette in the darkness, adding, “If you were granted one wish, what would it be?”
Franziska sighs heavily, and Maya knows she’s rolling her eyes, but she says, “I see we are once again playing the foolish ‘asking each other foolish questions in the middle of the night’ game; very well, if I must answer, my wish would be to stay by your side for the rest of my life.”
“That’s so lovely, Fran,” Maya whispers, shuffling closer and giving Franziska a kiss – and she hears Fran mutter ‘fool’.
