Summary
After taking part in the World War II, Merlin had been left hurt. After losing a part of himself because of the war, he had been placed in a institution with others invalide soldiers.
Lost, sad, angry, depressed, and lonely more than ever, Merlin was starting to fade away. For the first time, after Arthur died, Merlin was started to feel like he was slipping away, and he wasn't even fighting it. Because he simply didn't want to.
Would Arthur finally wake up now? Would he return now? Or would he leave his other half fade away in sadness and pain?
Inspired from a pic I saw online with a merthur AU : "When Arthur finally rose from Avalon he was afraid when he didn't find merlin waiting for him. Instead he saw the world he once knew, in a state of turmoil and war. And he was heartbroken when he discovered Merlin broken and powerless in a hospital cot."
(I changed a few things but the main subject is still the same).
