Work Text:
Midoriya was at a foster home, looking for a child he could adopt. There were many children in need there so he decided giving one a special home would be the right thing to do. He looked at all the little children but there was one that stood out to him. It was a grey-haired little girl with big red eyes. She looked like she wanted him as her father just as much as he wanted her as his daughter.
"Hey there little one." Midoriya said as he walked over to her.
She was shy but when he assured her that she was safe with him, she ran over to him, hugging him tightly.
"P-please take me home." She said. She was weary and looked like she was about to cry.
"Awww honey, it's okay, don't cry." He said as he comforted her.
One of the staff, seeing him hug the little girl, came over to tell him about her.
"Hello, I'm one of the foster care staff. My name is Hana Hokkaido. What's yours?"
"Oh hello, my name is Izuku Midoriya."
"Well nice to meet you Midoriya." "If you want to adopt this girl, please do. Her name is Eri and she is in desperate need for a home. Her mother died and her father abused and neglected her."
"Oh my I am very sorry to hear that. I will be sure to adopt her and give her a nice new home and life." Midoriya said. This was definitely coming from the heart. He had a passion to help those in need. He was definitely going to dedicate the rest of his life to care for little Eri.
"Thank you very much Midoriya. You don't know how much I am grateful you helped her out. People would always visit this center and never choose her."
"No problem, Hokkaido. As soon as I saw Eri, she was the one I wanted to take home."
"That is wonderful. Are you ready to sign the papers?"
"I sure am, thanks!"
"Ok here you go, just sign these two sheets and return them to me when you are finished."
"Ok, thank you." He then quickly signed the sheets and returned them to her. He couldn't wait to take her home.
When he was finished with everything, he walked out of the center with Eri in his arms. She was as excited as he was.
"Thank you Izuku Midoriya. You're my hero." She had already picked up his name.
"Aww thanks, your welcome. You don't have to be so formal though Eri, I will be your new caretaker- your father."
"Thank you father, you're my hero."
Midoriya chuckled and kissed her forehead.
"And you are my daughter whom I rescued."
These words were definitely coming from the heart.
