yoongi was usually the one in charge of grocery shopping. sometimes, though, when he was particularly busy, he would forget until the weekend, when seokjin questioned why their fridge was empty and then dragged yoongi and jeongguk to the supermarket.
once jeongguk was able to walk by himself, he didn't want to be carried in the supermarket anymore. lately, he had become fascinated by the tiny shopping cart that he saw another kid push around, and had insisted that he wanted to push one as well.
yoongi wiped the handle with a wet wipe, and then let jeongguk push it around while following him like a little duckling. seokjin trailed along behind them to make sure jeongguk wasn't distracted and left behind.
"da!" jeongguk squealed excitedly when they were walking along the baby needs and toys aisle. his eyes locked on a huge teddy bear, more than twice his size, and he let go of the shopping cart to pull one off the shelf and tackle it down onto the floor, before snuggling with it.
"is it bad if i want to record him first?" seokjin asked as he pulled his phone out and quickly turned on the camera app.
they recorded a quick video of jeongguk snuggling the bear before yoongi pulled him up and returned the bear to the shelf.
"come on, baby, we're not here for the bear," yoongi said softly, kissing jeongguk's forehead as he pouted slightly, watching the bear.
"should we get him one?" seokjin queried.
"absolutely not," yoongi said as he rolled his eyes. "his crib is already filled with stuffed toys, he doesn't need another one."
"but..."
"jimin and taehyung have a couple of big ones," yoongi said quickly, "we can visit them and let jeongguk play with those, okay?"
"okay," seokjin conceded. "ggukie, come on, we'll go visit jimin and taehyung and play with the bear sometimes soon, okay?"
jeongguk nodded and toddled back towards his shopping cart. they continued on their shopping, and returned home to unload the groceries.
yoongi went to prepare lunch while seokjin and jeongguk watched a disney movie (which he was pretty sure jeongguk didn't understand, he only liked the moving pictures and songs) and jeongguk danced along to the songs, flailing his tiny arms like he wanted to punch someone. seokjin wondered if it would be a good idea to send jeongguk to a martial arts class, but he still had a lot of time to think about it.
yoongi called them for lunch once he was finished, and seokjin helped settle jeongguk in his high chair.
"i called jimin and taehyung just now," yoongi said. "they'd be home all day so we can go visit if you want to bring ggukie there to play with their teddy bears."
"oh, that's great," seokjin said with a grin. he turned to jeongguk, who was holding onto his plastic bowl while patiently waiting for food to be scooped into it. "are you excited, ggukie? we're going to jimin-hyung and taehyung-hyung's place."
jeongguk blinked, then nodded, still holding onto his bowl.
"and they have big bears, just like the one at the store earlier!"
jeongguk squealed and cheered at that.
"well, now we must not tell those two about this, ever. jimin will sulk until next week if he knows ggukie chooses the bear over him."

"ggukie!" jimin exclaimed when he saw yoongi with jeongguk in his arms. "come on in," he said, even as he reached out and plucked jeongguk from yoongi's arms, before stepping aside to let yoongi and seokjin through.
jeongguk giggled as he wrapped his arms around jimin's neck, allowing jimin to press kisses to his chubby cheek.
taehyung came out of his room, a huge grin on his face when he saw jeongguk, and jimin let him take jeongguk from him. taehyung greeted him with kisses as well, and finally let jeongguk down when he started to squirm.
"sorry for the short notice," yoongi said, "it's just that--"
they were cut off by jeongguk's squeal. the four turned around and saw jeongguk toddling as fast as he could towards the two teddy bears that jimin and taehyung left on their couch in case they wanted to snuggle something while staying up late to watch drama. jeongguk grabbed onto both of them, clutching onto each one with his tiny fist, and dragged them off the couch onto the floor, before he proceeded to snuggle with the bears.
"ah," jimin made a noise of understanding. "well, he's always welcome here if he wants to play with the bears."
"thanks, jiminie."
"no problem, hyung. now let me go get my camera."

on sunday, they had planned for a quiet day at home, or maybe a stroll to the local park. seokjin felt bad because he felt like he was wasting his free time by not taking jeongguk out to see things, but yoongi reminded him that jeongguk was happy to spend time with him, no matter where.
he also knew that seokjin had been really busy at work, consistently having to leave earlier for work so he could still go home on time, and as much as he wanted to go out and enjoy the good day with jeongguk, he wanted seokjin to rest too.
after breakfast, yoongi shooed the two from the kitchen, telling them to go play while he washed the dishes.
when he was finished, he walked towards the living room because it was suspiciously quiet. he smiled to himself when he saw seokjin sprawled on the floor on his stomach, cheek smushed against the floor as he fell asleep. his arms were by his head, and a pile of toy bricks laid forgotten in front of him. he must have been a lot more tired than he thought.
yoongi wondered if he should wake seokjin up and tell him to sleep on the bed or if he should get a blanket for his nap. his thoughts were interrupted when jeongguk let go of his toy blocks and started patting seokjin's cheek.
"da?" he called out, and huffed when he got no reply.
jeongguk pushed himself up and toddled around towards seokjin's back. he pressed his tiny fists onto seokjin's back, and yoongi quickly pulled his phone out to start recording, wondering if jeongguk would start kneading his back like kittens do.
to his surprise, jeongguk pushed himself up onto seokjin's back instead, ignoring the surprised grunt from the still sleeping man. he settled down easily on seokjin's broad back, cheek smushed on it the same way seokjin's cheek was smushed against the floor, and quickly fell asleep.
yoongi stopped recording after jeongguk fell asleep, and instead took a couple of pictures of the two, both sleeping in the same pose; one on the floor and one on the other's back. a thin trail of drool trickled down jeongguk's chubby cheek, and yoongi gently wiped it off with tissue.
"sleep well, my loves," he whispered to the two, before settling down on the couch and reminding himself to wake them up in thirty minutes, lest seokjin woke up with a neck pain.
he sent the picture to the group chat with the caption "sometimes you really just don't need a dna test" and jimin spammed the group chat with heart eyes emoji.
