Kiss Me Again Drabbles

Summary:

Drabbles I wrote while re-watching the PeteKao Kiss Me Again cut! (Unbeta'd)

Chapter Text

Pete’s never forgotten that pale nerd.

He’s seen him slinking around their high school for years, nose usually buried in a book, but he’s never actually talked to him before that fateful day when the guy stood up for that bastard Rain.

If it wasn’t for whom he did it, Pete would’ve been impressed. Because the geek was afraid, Pete could see it in his eyes, and yet, here he was, punching Pete and standing tall. It’s hard to dismiss bravery like that.

He’s never thought he would see him again, though. And yet.

Kao. That nerd’s name, it’s Kao.

Over the years Pete’s kissed many girls. And with some of them, he even had sex. They came and they went, passing through his life and he through theirs. There for a while and quickly forgotten again.

And then… Kao

One stumble and mouths mashed together. Lips as soft as girl’s, plump and sweet. A solid body, stockier than his yet soft enough to cushion his fall. Dark eyes wide open, startled. Hands lifted, clenching and unclenching, unsure whether to push him away or to hold him fast. A quickly beating heart. Warmth.

An unforgettable moment.

A kiss with Kao.

Kao’s never been kissed before. Never before that moment when Pete tripped and fell and tackled Kao to the ground, accidentally pressing their lips together, has Kao experienced such an intimate touch.

He’s always been that nerd who spent too much time with his nose stuck in his book for anyone to show any interest in him, girls or boys - though he’s known his preferences early on. Nobody’s ever wanted him that way.

So when Pete jumped away and wiped off his lips and spit in disgust, Kao felt like crying.

Nobody wants their first kiss to be like that.

Pete absolutely refuses to stay for dinner at Kao’s. After dropping off Sandee, he drives home, Kao’s borrowed t-shirt itching against his skin. He tears it off the moment he steps into his room, fingers brushing against his scalded abdomen.

He pauses.

Looking down at his reddened skin, he runs his fingers over that spot again. In his memory, though, it’s not his fingers but Kao’s, lightly, gently touching him to spread healing salve across the burn, cold against hot.

It makes Pete’s breath hitch.

Growling in frustration, he throws the t-shirt across the room and goes take a shower.

Kao hates physical fights. They scare him.

Yes, he’s afraid of pain - who wouldn’t be? - but mainly, he’s afraid of the brutality of fights, of such a deep loss of control. He’s afraid that once he starts using his fists, he might never stop.

But Pete brings up that terrible side in him with his pushing and prodding, both verbal and physical jabs, so easily. And once, just once, Kao loses control and beats Pete unconscious. He keeps punching and punching until Pete stops moving.

Kao scares himself. So much anger, deep down inside him.

He never does it again.

Chapter Text

Pete’s kissing Kao’s neck, nibbling on his skin, when Kao nudges him away.

“Pete?” Kao croaks out breathlessly. “Pete, wait! Can you just… Please.”

That quiet plea makes Pete stop. He looks down at Kao. “You don’t want to?” He sounds a little disappointed.

“I do but…” Kao clears his throat, looking away. “I’ve never actually… done this before.”

Hearing that, Pete’s possessiveness burns even brighter, hotter. Kao with his kiss-swollen lips and flushed cheeks, shirt half unbuttoned and legs spread apart to accommodate Pete - all his. Only his and no one else’s.

Pete smiles. “I promise to go slow.”

“If my dad asked you, you would really break up with me? You like me so little?” Pete asks, turning his head to look at Kao, lying beside him.

“I like you that much,” Kao corrects him.

Pete frowns. “That doesn’t make any sense.”

“Your father, he’s the only family you have left. I would never be so selfish as to ruin your relationship with him.”

After a pause, Pete says, “He isn’t the only family I have left, you know.”

Kao looks at him. “Oh?”

Leaning closer, Pete pecks him on the lips and smiles. “Now I have you.”

A mystery: How can sex with nerdy Kao be so good, really? It is, though, so good it makes Pete’s toes curl: the way Kao takes him in and pulls him close and wraps his legs around him, moaning softly. Kao, unrestrained and unguarded, is so hot!

But what Pete expects even less is how wonderful it is to wake up with Kao in his arms, all warm and languid and sleepy, and hearing him whisper a smiley, “G’morning,” as he squints in the morning sun.

Pete’s life is suddenly full of good things. And it scares him a little.
