Work Text:
Ever since that damned festival had ended, an insanely amount of things had happened around the life of Hitoshi Shinsou.
For once, his dream of becoming a hero had become one too many steps closer and his training with Aizawa made his motivation reach new levels, he could finally do this; he would do this and become a hero, like he had dreamed many years ago.
The only problem Hitoshi could find with his reformed lifestyle was probably her.
Ebony black hair up in a ponytail, bouncing with each step she gave as the proper vice-rep of the hero course followed him around, trying to go unnoticed but failing horribly as she greeted every person that went up to her.
He still remembers the small whimper of “Shinsou-san…” after she had asked him to brainwash her at the exit of the UA sport festival. Ever since then, he would see Yaoyorozu in the corner of his eye, as he thought “Oh my god, not her again”.
But Hitoshi hadn’t had the time to refuse her properly, now that he remembered.
Maybe Yaoyorozu was in all her right to demand a proper answer and her weird following him around was just her waiting for a moment to actually talk to him. Shinsou could totally see it now, remembering those big black eyes becoming ever so puppy-like when encountered with his.
He turned around and all her expression brightened up. She took a deep breath and finally opened her mouth in a loud whisper.
“Please brainwash me!”
He inquisitively looked at her, local goddess Yaoyorozu Momo bowing at him with a small smile as she got up and looked straight into his deep purple eyes, getting just a little bit closer with a hand around her mouth, inquiring jealousy gazes from his classmates as she, once again, murmured to him.
“…I’d really like to be less clumsy”
This was his chance to finally get rid of her presence. With a shit eating grin he spoke in his most educated tone.
“See, I would like to do that, but my quirk doesn’t exactly work that way”
Her defeated sigh tasted like glory in his tongue.
“Is that so? …Then I deeply apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused you, please have a good day, Shinso-san”
As she turned around, with that subtle hurt look in her face he felt like he had actually kicked an innocent puppy.
And that was the moment when he made a mistake
“Thought I myself don’t know if what you’re asking would work…”
Just as quickly as she had turned around she was suddenly inches away from his face, hands clasped together while bright gaze bounced up an down along with her hair.
“So there is a chance it would, right?!”
“I mean…”
Shinsou didn’t know what to say, he knew the composed, ever so elegant Yaoyorozu Momo that could command her classmates and beat his ass in a fight, and now he was in front of this incredibly cute creature that looked like it was ready to be hugged anytime now.
“Would you give at least it a try?”
“I…” He cleared his throat as he took a step back from her excited form “I don’t see how you can be clumsy”
“Oh, but I am, extremely so” Yaoyorozu sighed and he watched in wonder how her expression turned just a tiny bit sour as she explained “Last time I went grocery shopping I ended up bringing much more than I was requested to because of my miscalculations and on hero training I got trampled between the threads in the ground and almost fell on my face and, oh! This one it’s far too embarrassing, but I attempted to eat a burger with fork and knife!”
As Yaoyorozu ended up her explanation, Hitoshi was proud of himself for not letting even a single giggle out of his mouth as his shoulders shook with the need to laugh at her idea of clumsiness.
“You- You got the first place at the exams, right?”
“Yes, I did.” She vehemently answers, then looks instantly confused “But Shinsou-san that’s not the point…?”
“Then you’re not clumsy at all”
“I am! What kind of hero gets trampled like that?”
Biting the inner side of his side to not reply “A hero like you” Shinsou says instead “Those are honest mistakes”
“I hereby refuse to believe that”
Yaoyorozu adamantly denies with her head and at that, Shinsou laughs at her and her now offended open mouthed face.
He could have easily denied her then, just as he had planned to since the beginning, but then the bells that signaled the end of recess ran and once again, one of his horrible ideas came to mind as he leaved the question unanswered; she was too much fun.
