Chapter Text
By the time you open this, I’ll be down the road and hopefully out of Snezhnaya. Please don’t blame Turms, I’ve been saving up for this trip on my own and asked him very nicely to help.
Maybe blame the smithy? He told me the woods were too dangerous alone, especially here, said Turms the Tinkerer is always going to other villages, so I could go with him until we get somewhere warmer.
I promise I’ll find a way to send another letter, even if I have to beg a Fatui to take time out of their hard work for Her Majesty, the Tsaritsa!
Your wayward son and brother, Ajax
—
Sorry for taking six weeks to write another letter. Right now I’m sitting in a bed for the first time in three weeks and it feels amazing. I have time right now, so-
I made friends!
They are both Vision users and older than me, and they write to their families as well. In fact, Sudarshani was very insistent I write one now, telling me how you all must be worried sick.
Sudarshani is a healer, and she says she has a husband and daughter. She certainly talks about them all the time when she’s patching me up. Did you know that you can keep infection away using fire? That’s why your body heats up when you’re sick, that’s what she says.
The other is… I don’t know about him. His name is Hirata, and Sudarshani says his parents came from different places. He is stout and often frowning. He keeps me out of too much trouble. He doesn’t talk much, he says everything with his face, kind of like Tonia.
Sudarshani was the one who invited me to the campfire and shared food with me, and insisted I stay if I wanted. She even lended me paper to write this.
We are in a small town, I don’t know the country yet, I haven’t asked. No one here has even heard of home! Some of the dresses here are beautiful, I think big sister would love one to wear to one of the festivals. I promise once I find a way to send gifts, I’ll get someone to bring something back to you all!
