All things considered, A-Ling really wasn't an unusually fussy newborn, but still, Jiang Yanli felt like she had scarcely closed her eyes when she heard him start to whine again. She grit her teeth, trying to summon up the energy to go to him, when she heard a low crooning coming from across the room.
Zixuan was singing softly as he changed their sons diaper and redressed him, little A-Ling enraptured by his father's voice.
Zixuan smiled when he noticed she was awake, and he walked over to their bed with A-Ling in his arms. She curled into his side when he sat on the bed, and he kissed first the crown of her head, then her nose, when she turned her face up to his, and finally, her lips, soft and sweet and full of his love. "Good morning," he said, as he wrapped their little family up in his arms.
