"Sapnap. Sapnap! Sapnap please-"
Sapnap hummed as he washed his hands off in the river, making sure to slowly rub off the dirt so as to not bother the small scrapes on his palms. The water was pleasantly cold, a nice contrast to the warm, spring day.
"Sapnaaaaap!"
Sapnap turned as he saw Dream running over to him, waving his hands up wildly. Leaning back a little, Sapnap could see George following behind, hand rummaging around in his satchel.
"Hey dude! What's up? You guys back already? That was fast," Sapnap smirked "or did you just missss meeee" He taunted as he blew kissy faces at the two.
"Ugh, ew, as if." George fake gagged as he pulled his fingers out of his satchel with a cloth in his hands. "It's been hours Sap, we just came to check up on you."
"Oh." Sapnap said as he looked back to the river to take his hands out, shaking them off and slowly turning "has it really been that long? God, feels like you two just left, like, 10 minutes ago-"
Sapnap stared at them.
"W-what?"
The figures stared back at him, tall and void of life, just mindless sacks of creatures standing where his friends once were.
He stumbled back, shoe stepping into the river.
"Dream?"
His foot felt wet.
"George?"
Why was everything so cold?
The figures stood there, staring. In the George lookalike's hand stood the same cloth that Sapnap saw the real George pull out, except now it seemed lumpier. Like something was in it.
Something in Sapnap was telling him to come closer. To take it. These were his friends, they won't hurt him. Come closer, Sapnap.
"Come closer"
They have a point. These were his best friends, they would never hurt him. He was safe. Sapnap slowly lifted his leg, reaching forward to grab the cloth-
"SAPNAP"
Sapnap went wide eyed as he stumbled over his foot and tripped, falling back into the freezing water. When did it get freezing?
He looked up to the surface of the water, hands and body thrashing as they tried to swim him up to the surface. Above, he saw the figures of his friends standing there, eyes just slightly too dark, mouths just slightly too wide. Sapnap reached out to them, these were his friends! They wouldn't let him die like this! ...Would they?
Sapnap stared as the figures just stared back down at him, still.
He closed his eyes and let himself fall.
"Sapnap please, it's okay. Just wake up, it's alright, you're having a nightmare."
Sapnap gasped as he sat upright, hands coming up to his hair, tangling themselves in the strands. He could feel two other bodies on either side of him, but he was too out of it to tell who they were. God, it was so cold.
"Sapnap, baby, I'm so sorry. It's okay, it's okay, we're so sorry"
Hands we're on his cheeks, turning his face to face the person, but his eyes were unseeing. It wasn't until minutes later that he calmed down enough to focus his eyes on the person across from him.
"Q-Quackity?" Quackity's eyes shined as he smiled.
"Yeah baby, it's me. I'm right here, see?" He put Sapnap's hands onto his cheeks, letting Sapnap squish them and lightly move the skin on his face around to make sure that Quackity was really there.
Suddenly, Sapnap became aware of arms around his waist from behind and craned his neck back, coming face to face with Karl.
"Hey lovey. You back with us?" Karl questioned as he rubbed his fingers against Sapnap's hips, grounding the younger.
Sapnap hummed as he leaned his head against Karl's, breathing in his fiance's scent.
"Yeah," Sapnap whispered. " M'sorry. I don't-"
"Shhh, nothing to apologize for Sappy. It's okay, everyone gets nightmares."
"But-"
Sapnap giggled as he was cut off with light kisses on his neck and raspberries being blown onto his lips.
"But nothing Sappy! Now, we're gonna go to honking sleep! I wanna cuddle my homies." Karl said as he snuggled back down into the covers, blanket pulled up to his chin.
"Yeah, "homies". You know Karlos, you think being engaged to you would at least bring us above homie level." Quackity teased as he pulled Sapnap down with him.
"I have noooo clue what you mean Quackmeister, I'mma be honest with you" Karl joked as he turned over, wrapping Sapnap in his arms from under the covers.
"Now shhhhhh, I'm tired."
Quackity rolled his eyes and muttered a "yes sir" as he scooted closer to Sapnap, leaning into his side.
Sapnap smiled as he stared up at the ceiling surrounded by his boyfriends. Nothing could compare to the feeling of their love in Sapnap's mind. God, he wouldn't trade them for anything in the world.
And with that, Sapnap was lulled back to sleep with the comfortable feeling of safety and love.
