Chapter Text

Phil was sat by the edge where the bedrock split, staring down into the void. It was pitch-black darkness; you couldn’t see anything beyond it. The crows around him flapped their wings anxiously. He stared at them, grinning.

“Anyone feeling a bit adventurous?” He quirked a brow. The birds got louder; he merely laughed at them.

His heart raced as he stood up, leaning closer to the endless abyss below him.  Whispers came from within, beckoning him down. It tempted him even further. But he knew he couldn’t be too careless; if he goes too deep he would die.

“It’s time.”

His grey wings spread wide open. The crows now flocked around him, gripping onto any part of him they could reach.

He thought he heard someone call his name moments before he dove headfirst towards the void. His heart raced as he surfed beneath the bedrock, his wings slightly brushing the indestructible roof above him. The crows perched on him cawed loudly, gripping onto him tight. Some of them were more daring and flew beside him, gaping at the mysterious beauty that is the void.

The void is an odd place. It felt neither cold nor hot. There was a strange gust of air that passed through the place and it feels like it's calling out to you. Phil, however, paid little to no attention to those whispers, worried it might pull him down to his doom.

Everything felt free. The rush of adrenaline excited him. His arms spread out as he did several spins, cackling. Daringly, he started to dip lower, making the birds panic more. His hands reached into the darkness beneath him, feeling the emptiness beneath him.

He got lower and lower until he felt something brush against his hand. He quickly shot upwards and away from what was beneath. The crows screeched and flocked around him.

Phil propelled himself back up and through the bedrock. He landed nimbly on his feet and the crows started to fly around him.

“That was fun, wasn’t it?” he grinned. The crows could only let out exasperated noises.

He turned to look down at the void once more. He could’ve sworn he felt something -- or someone -- stare back at him.

“I should head back to the surface now.” He mined his way back up, the crows following behind him.

What he didn’t realize was that she continued to observe him with a curious gaze. Never in her life has she seen someone so brave to challenge death like that. She was amused by it.

She only hoped that he would come around often. Perhaps he would come back when he was feeling daring again.

Or maybe,

She summoned a crow, one of her most loyal pets. She whispered to it a small request: to follow him along with the other crows, to observe him.

She didn't know why but…She was infatuated with him.

Chapter 2: Events from the Void

Summary:

Ever since his trip to the void, Phil begins to experience odd things

Notes:

I did not think I'd make a continuation to this yet here I am
Also for disclaimer I have not kept up with origins SMP for the longest time so idk much on what goes on there rn I'm still basing things off the earlier times of the SMP + newer members

Chapter Text

It’s been almost a week since Phil decided to take a dive into the void. And ever since, he has been experiencing… Interesting events.

He constantly hears a soft whisper in his ear whenever he flies. It was soft, melodic, calling for him. But the only ones in the sky was him and his crows.

No… couldn’t have been one of the crows… He has reached a point where he was familiar with each of their voices by heart.

Then there were those nights, where he had the same repeating dream. A figure, tall and overshadowing him, their face was unrecognizable behind the black veil. Yet, Phil couldn’t help but feel a sense of familiarity ever since this figure first showed in his dreams.

Usually if one were to have big dark figures show up in their dream they would wake up to a sense of fear, dread even. But for Phil, he felt comfort, warmth, like he was engulfed in a warm and loving embrace.

Phil kept this a secret from the others, not out of fear, he just didn’t think it was necessary to talk about to them. He wonders every day what this all meant. Was it an omen of sorts? He was unsure.

—--

It was a night filled with laughter and partying. Wilbur had hosted a party at the pube. Everybody was invited! And Wilbur had assured Phil all things will go well. Now Phil sat at the bar with his best friend, Technoblade, who was taking small sips of his carrot cocktail. Phil considered on confiding about the events to Technoblade. He trusts the man, after all.

After taking a few more swigs of his drink, he felt tipsy enough to have the courage to speak up.

“Hey, tech.”

“Hm?” the latter responded, not looking away from the book he was reading.

“I wanted to talk to you about something.”

Techno was familiar with this solemn voice. Something was on his best friend’s mind. He slipped the bookmark into the book before turning to him.

“What’s up?”

“So the other day, I went mining.”

“Okay.”

“Then I found this hole in the bedrock.”

“Uhuh.”

“So me and the crows, we went flying into the hole and into the void.”

“I see.”

“But ever since, I’ve been hearing weird sounds and had weird dreams.”

Techno quirked his brow at the last part, pulling off his glasses to wipe them a bit.

“That sounds interesting.”

Phil shrugged, taking another swig of his drink.

“Phil I think-”

The sound of thunder boomed through the pube, followed by a blanket of darkness covering them.
