Chapter Text
Fundy stared up at the sky as he laid on the damp forest floor, soft pellets of rain landing on his cheek, listening to the sounds of the river. He closed his eyes for a second, smiling as petrichor and spring flowers filled his senses, opening his eyes and yelping. There was a blonde sheep hybrid staring at him, smiling down at him, "Hello." Fundy jolted up, lurching forward and backed into a tree, "What do you want? Who are you?"
"Oh me? I'm.. Clay! Who are you?" The fox eyed him wearily, "Fundy. Why are you here?" Clay shrugged as he approached closer, "I was just doing me dog watching through the forest and I found you on the floor! Naturally I went to check if you were doing the old Davy Jones’ locker." Fundy nodded hesitantly, "I guess that's fair," he mumbled. The sheep reached his hand out, pulling him up when he took it, catching him when he stumbled. "Jesus you're strong." Clay flushed, "ah nah, it's nothing really. Just kinda happens when you live out at sea for most of your life.
Fundy perked up at that, "You're a pirate?" The blonde laughed, "yea i guess you could say that, Me ma's the Captain of the ship." The redhead scooted closer, "That's so cool! My father would never let me sail like.. Ever!" ‘Eret would' a nasty voice said in his brain, making him frown. Clay frowned with him, "are you okay," he asked softly as he took Fundy's hand. Fundy nodded, "yea, I'm Fine." The sheep didn't seem to believe him, but in a second he perked up. "How about we play a game?" He tilted his head in curiosity, "what game?"
"Let's play 5 questions! We both ask each other 5 questions each! It's a great way to learn about each other," Clay explained. The Fox nodded, "okay, sure." Clay squealed happily, clapping in excitement, "Okay, okay! I'll go first! How old are you?"
"16, How old are you?"
"17! What weapon would you use in battle?”
"My father never let me hold a weapon before so I wouldn't know, What about you?”
"I would use an Axe and Shield, It’s good to stay on the defensive. Where’d you get that accent from?”
"Well, My father was british and My mum was Dutch. But I got taken care of by someone who lived near The Netherlands not to be confused with the Nether aka HELL. I’d ask you the same but i can already tell you’re american, though i think you’re talking in slang. How was life at Sea?”
“Oh It was amazing, We'd just sail around the same places but we’d mostly just stop at ports in America, We met me bestfriends that way, they liked me so much that they boarded with us. Only 2 parents join though, it’s weird. If your father doesn’t let you use weapons, what do you do to spend your time?”
“I used to just stay in my father’s van but ever since He sent me to this one place I’ve been using redstone machinery, it’s all I know how to do at this point. How would you describe your friends? Seems like you're very fond of them.”
“Oh, yea Their names are Sapnap and George, they’re the best. Sapnap can control fire and he’s super good at combat! George is a Mooshroom hybrid but he kinda just sleeps all day when Me and Sap spar to train, but he’s really good at the bow! Do you have any friends you could talk about?”
“I have these 2 friends 5up and crumb, they were the best! But I can't really see them anymore, since they live far away and the only way to get to them is by that train that comes every 4 years. Which just kinda blows. I uhm.”
Fundy stared into emerald eyes, frowning as he struggled to think, “I don’t have a last question. You can have it.” Clay jolted in slight surprise, “Oh okay, damn. Uh Will I ever see you again? You seem really cool.” The fox hummed as he tapped his finger on his chin, as if thinking, smiling as Clay pouted at him. “Yea Sure, why not? We could meet here by the lake if you’d like.” The sheep punched the air happily, letting a victorious ‘Yes’ as he pulled the fox up, “We should get going! It’s pretty late and ma’s gonna be mad.”
“See ya tomorrow Fundy!”
“Yea.. see ya Clay."
